Upgrade my Boardman Road Comp 09

I recently got a Boardman Road Comp 09 and really love it, it's light and fast. I'm fortunate enough to be getting a bit of a bonus soon and could spend about £300 upgrading components without the wife noticing!!
I would really appreciate any suggestions as to what would be the best upgrade/upgrade's for that sort of price. I'm no mechanic and so my LBS may have to do the work although I'm willing to give anything a go if its not too difficult.
By the way I would just like to say that out riding this evening I had 3 fellow cyclists at different lights say stuff like "Boardman, nice bike mate, seriously underrated". I really think the snobbery about them has gone now.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Wheels/tyres is the up-grade that will make the most noticable difference IMOwinter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

Good bike!
On mine I have up graded the stem (too short) and now wheels and tyres (my old are FS in the road forum ).
I will fit wider bars at some point in the future, but, like the stem, that is just a personal fit/feel thing.0 -
+1 for wheels and tyres, best go for a set that looks similar to the ones you have if you need to sneak them past the commandantPictures are better than words because some words are big and hard to understand.

Thanks for the replies, wheels & tyres seems the common choice although I think the stem seems a good idea as well, it does seem like I should be stretched out more when riding.

Tyres, because the ultra sports are crap. Wouldn't hurt to get a few spares in anticipation of future replacements. I.e. new chain and some tools, maybe a cassette or chain ring, some break pads. Prices will most likely go up in future so its nice to have these stocked up for when needed.Shazam !!0

If it helps my shop has a set of 2008 Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels available for £269.99 (the 2009 version are £465). Bargain I'd say!0
