People you would like to SCR

OK so I've established the nemesis thread. But who on this website would you like to encounter on your commute and ultimately scalp?

Biondino - For all the times he has disagreed with me.
Greg66 - For that ride back from the Mopeth, I'll never forget that, he made tears come out of my eyes
JenJ - Because she lives a few doors away and the rivalry would be cool.
Brun - For disagreeing with me
JayW - He has a Giant M2, the bike I had before my SCR and it would be good to 'compete' against one
Food Chain number = 4

A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game

Victoria Pendleton but I doubt I would ever be able to pass her (not through lack of speed mind)
Short hairy legged roadie FCN 4 or 5 in my baggies.

All the people on bikeradar who claim they can "only" cruise at 30mph in a headwind, with one leg on the pedals, on a full susser etc.

    Also, Lost in Thought.

I wouldnt be able to overtake any of you lot. You all sound pretty nippy.

Having said that I rarely seem to get overtaken here, not many proper roadies at the times I commute. I overtook a guy on the itchen bridge yesterday morning, looked a proper roadie with the kit and physique but he was blowing hard and in the wrong gear so I did wonder. :?

Everytime I overtake another cyclist I tend to wonder "how many more miles have you done, mate?"

As I learnt from my days whilst running, I perform best when I have a "carrot" in front of me!
As such I'd say just about anyone on a road bike! Most of the people on the SCR thread are obviously "rather quick", especially our Embankment brigade!

As for famous people it would have to be Pendleton, Hoy and Cav just because I'd love to see just how fast they are! Of course ideally it would be on equal terms so they'd either need to ride Giant SCR 3s or one of them can lend me a bike :-D

Is JenJ back on the bike or forum yet? Not heard from her since we saw pics of her multicoloured body parts.

Got to say LiT would be the ultimate scalp for me especially if she is on her PnJ, though any of the London mob and in the yokel neck of the woods Attica as he's on a road bike and I'm on a MTB.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Bit unfair though, as (according to my speedo) he maxed out at 44 km/h.

It wasn't exactly a throaty roar, I'll grant you.

And the rider was, well, a bit of a dandy. Perhaps speed scares him.

IIRC, you calling me an elder is a sign of your senility!

44km/h = 27 and a bit mph, in case you've run out of fingers and you've taken your socks off, and still can't work it out. And stop squinting to read this old man!

You see some fat b*astard up ahead giving it large, you say I'll have some of that and then you play it out.

My computer is calibrated in kms and I can't be a**sed to read the manual to swap it to mph. And doing the mental conversions keeps me amused when chasing scooters on the Uxbridge Rd. :)

But really I just like a bigger number on my speedo

If you have a Cateye, there should be a menu button on the back. Press that.

Then, randomly press the buttons on the top and maybe the one on the side. That should do it. :)
