Hello all,

I'm still a bit shocked, i was out on my steed sunday, sun shining, open new forest beckoning, half way through my epic expedition, my bike, a 2004 s-works enduro frame with componants added as and when i could afford them, developed what can only be discribed as a fucking annoying creak!! after 5 minutes I had to stop it was pissing me off that much, I looked down and the frame holding my seat post had cracked.......BUGGER!!

To be honest i'm a bit of a wet sock, and dont ever hammer the bike the odd 12" jump over a small twigg is all i can manage, so it'snot llike its had a hard life.

So i emailed specialized when i finally got home, to simply ask if it could be welded, or if i should have an informal burial in a nice secluded spot in the forrest!

NO!!!! my reply came a day later, take the Frame back to where i bought it (hargroves in southampton) and specializes will replace the frame !!! i cant believe it !! the replacement is a stumpjumper 120 ??? what ever that is

WOOOHOOOO!!!!
Sorry, just thought i should say how ace specialized are :)

Paul

Heh, if I was a spesh owner I'd be happier if the frames just didn't break  But that's good service.

A five year old frame replaced under warranty, can't say fairer than that!

I'll be out at the weekend trying to break my 2005 FSR 120

thats a pretty good point!!

i had some bother with spesh's own suspension and even though i was the second owner, they fixed them under warranty. i sent them on a tuesday morning and they were back in my house by thursday, i only paid for postage one way and they were spot on after i got them back.

    spesh have outstanding customer service.

I've had 3 speshes, none of the frames broke. But, that could be because the first 2 were stolen after only having them for a few months.

In broad daylight, from Epsom train station, in front of a CCTV camera. The first time, they cut through the cable lock with a hacksaw, must have taken them ages, yet no one asked them what they were doing. The second time, they got the D-Lock off, no idea how.

That's great but how come they are not replacing it with another Enduro?

I've had a Spesh nicked too - bike thieves seem to love them for some reason - I suppose because they are the best known 'proper' mountain bike brand.

Yeah great aren't they! The front triangles are warranted for life! The sub frame for two years (on FS bikes).

I guess they're giving him a Stumpy frame as his '04 Endruo is about 130mm travel and designed to work with 120mm fork, so his fork etc will work with the stumpy frame.

I 2nd this - I've had a wheel, shock and just this week a saddle replaced under warranty.

The wheel was a no brainier replacement because it failed on this first ride.
The shock fault was picked up by Specialized themselves during a routine bush replacement and a new shock fitted within 2 days.
During a ride last Saturday my seat rail snapped, the bike is 11 months, 3 weeks old and didn't think the seat failure would be covered Gave them a call anyway and it is - result.

Failures happen, its how a company deals with them that matters. I know that if any part fails on my bike that I can get it replaced within 2-3 days.
  • SDK, I cannot even begin to tell you how much I want your bike. Do they really climb as well as you say? That's the only thing that put me off getting one. Unfortunately nowhere round here had one I could test out.

And this is precisely the reason why there are so many out on the trails. Un-original, yes, but the FSR suspension is liscensed out to how many other manufacturers? And they're custome support is second to none (proof here!!).

It's why I have owned 3 bikes, and numerous other items, and clothes.

    Awesome

Can't really beat a specialized for value and performance. I've had 2 now and loved riding them both. Would recommend them to anyone (and i do!).

    Hello,

Thats right p-jay, the reason its a stump jumper is because it is the most similar of their current range that matches the enduro i have.
