Trek EX8 metallic rattling noise

I bought my EX8 last october and have had a problem with an annoying noise since the day I bought it but i'm finding it difficult to be able to identify it.
The noise is coming from the rear brake assembly and sounds like a metallic rattling but is silenced when I apply the brake. I have already had all the brake pads replaced and some of the fluid taken out of the hydraulic system so as to increase the distance between the caliper and the pads. Yet the rattle still remains.

Has anyone got any idea about what this noise might be? I would appreciate any ideas?

What brakes are they?

If they're Juicy's the pad retaining clip can rattle about, certainly did on my Scale's rear

Ye, theyre Juicy 5's i think.

Is there anything you were able to do about it?

I just put up with it until a suitable amount of brake dust had built up on the pads/clip/caliper to prevent the movement or dampen the noise. It certainly went away after time but re-appeared after a thorough clean.

There may be a way to slighlty bend the clip but I didn't risk it.
