Mmm done all of those and not that impressed tbh, all a bit average imo. I'm looking for somewhere "special". There has to be somewhere.

Aaah let's just say my job might make it a tricky place to socialise in but yes I did go to one a few years ago.
  • How about Jaan in Woodstock? Not had a meal there, but had plenty (or should that be far too many) takeaways from there when I used to live there...

Is that the one o the main street? If so I stayed in a room above it when it used to be a tea shop or something similar. 1985.

Yes it is. It's quite new, have vague memories of it being a differant takeaway when I moved to Woodstock about 3-4 years ago.

They are quite funny in there, they make a big fuss of opening the door for you when you arrive and leave. And I seem to remember them giving me a plate or "clock plate" at Christmas. It was pride of place over the fireplace for a few weeks...

I've been to Dil Raj in Abingdon (2006) and to say it was bland and boring would be a gross understatement.

I think my expectations must be quite high but I am from the West Midlands and the best curries I've ever had have been back there.

That is balti county is'nt it?

I've had currys up there and they have been exceptional :D .

We dont seem to have much like that down this way :( .

The only one that springs to mind is the one in carterton above the shops, but that was a few years ago!

    Keep searching :) .
