I'd say Chingford station is the nearest. As you come out of the station turn right along Station Road and within a minute or so you're at the edge of the forest.0

Are there any way marked routes around Epping forest?0
-
No way marked routes in Epping. Are a number of bridlepaths that are easy to follow and the singletrack routes just branch off these all over the place.
Is some great riding up there but you just have to explore to find it.

Or is it this map http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/NR/rdonl ... EF_map.pdf it's at the bottom of the pdf and states its based off of OS mapping.
Or is it a different map all together.0 -
Yep, OS Explorer 174 is the one you need.
There's loads of singletrack both north and south of Chingford. Just follow your nose.0 -
Oh yeah...and put your mud tyres on!0

ok thanks what trains would i need to get to chingford station?0
-
depends what station your coming from.
I'm guessing with the maps even the OS doesn't show all the single tracks or trails you just have to find them yourself or go with someone who knows them. The maps I have looked at show where the fire roads and horse tracks are and that's about it.0 -
best to get a OS map personally i prefer physical maps rather than digital maps so getting a good map, allways a good idea and as he posted they pretty cheap.
though i beleive the new maps are coming out allready so be sure to get one if you can as they sell VERY VERY fastLondon2Brighton Challange 100k!
