I was leaning towards the Tcr Advanced but think it's just too racey for what I need and that double chainset would kill me up the hills and I don't intend on racing I do enjoy the odd sportive/ group ride though. Any thoughts on this choice? I will be buying locally my chosen bike shop is a giant and trek dealer

Also I am looking at selling my 09 specialized allez double (£550 new last sept) what do you think it would be worth its in excellent condition only ridden in the wet once and thats due to getting caught out and I washed it on return.

Thanks that would be great, I did have a look at your thread but didn't want to thread jack as I have a few questions re the resale of my Allez, tbh I think it is going to be my next bike.

See what sort of deal your local shop will give you as a trade in for your old(ish) bike. If that was also bought from them they may give you a decent price.... then it's down to them to sell it rather than you

I have already wrangled a good deal, but they arnt a spesh dealer and dont sell used stuff, no bigie as ebay will take care of it. I think I would stick it up for £300 reserve identical to a new one spec wise still on the original brake pads

I would be happy with getting 300 quid if I were selling that. Good price.

Well I didn't go for the Giant after swinging my leg over a Trek Madone 4.7 in Swinnertons cyclen Fenton I was sold the bike is gorgeous in the flesh and the web site does not do it justice. They did a great job of getting me fitted on it and I bought it home today and rode it tonight. 58cm frame wieghed in @ 19lbs on the nose with pedals on etc. Overall very impressed with it ride and comfort wise it's great!

Enjoy! I still don't think the Giant is a bad choice it's just something about this colour scheme which drew me to it when I bought my Allez last year I wanted a 1.7 which was in this livery but they had all sold out in my size.
