Good morning/afternoon/evening all , depending on which part of the world you reside in .

I just joined the site having come across it a couple of weeks ago , looks good .

A quick intro : I am 48 , male , English , currently living in a town called Matsumoto in Japan , used to ride a lot when ( much ) younger and did some TTs , and have now entered a race up one of the many local 2000m mountains here , so training has begun :D

Current bikes are : 1961 ish Holdsworth road/track fixed .
............................. Hetchins Vade Mecum from about '67
..............................Antares ( Japanese) my general road bike
..............................Louis Garneau mountain bike

Looking forward to chatting with everyone and being part of the the site

I didn't know that Louis Garneau made bikes. I've got some of their clothing - pretty good stuff, but different material from what's available over here. It seems to take more complex and interesting designs.

Looking forward to hearing your Nipponese cycling tales (with pictures preferably).

I think that a Japanese company bought the mountain bke rights , or something , and so the bikes are built and sold over here .

I got mine 2nd hand and use it as my daily commuter round the rough streets here .
When I have worked out how to add photos on here I will put up some pics of the local mountains , beautiful , high and steep
