Just sitting here in the office looking out towards Canary Wharf, and wishing I was out on the bike

In actual fact I've been mentally planning the FWC, feeling the pain of the passes, the beauty of the scenery, espeicially the Langdales and going up through Hardknott and Wrynose, and feeling the buzz of riding in a big group.

I almost feel poetic about it all

Oh well here comes the boss, back to work

    Eels lyric?!

My sentiments exactly....WHY AM I STUCK IN HERE!

I am not gonna get changed yet, gonna head out at lunch....!

Can I point out that if you are in Langdale you have just added in an extra pass by Blea Tarn
I am looking forward to the high speed descent of Kirkstone and also visiting the west side of the lakes around Lowes water as I have never been over there. Hardknott has been visuallised and I seem to be able to make it up with minimal effort I may have to revisualise with the correct settings as I seem to have myself looking like Alberto Contador :D

Sounds like Eels to me, goddamn right it's a beautiful day, uh-huh :)

Agreed, apart from unusually heavy traffic (kids back at school?), it was a lovely ride in - totally smashed my usual time riding home last night too, wheee!

Good, some more Eels fans

You'er right Feltup, I've gone slightly wrong if I'm in the Langdales, but as it's my favourite part of the Lake District I've just added it into my mental route

As for Harknott, my visualisations are more Marco Pantani, the bandana is at the ready for the ascent

Why don't we take a ride away up high
    Through the neighbourhood
Up over the billboards and the factories
    And smoke

See if you didn't gloat quite as much then the p*ncture fairy might lay off for a bit!

Oh and make sure you get the sweatproof sunblock - especially for your face. The normal stuff kinda stings if you get in the eyes.

+1 It usually gets in my eyes during a fast descent

p.s. not jealous and not a little bit annoyed that the river didn't claim a victim. Vindictive me? Never! Looking forward to the commute home along the river and then over the fields finishing along country lanes. Singlecross rocks for this commute.

Over an hour to go. *sniff.

I got up at 5am today, have already travelled 1800km, had a solid day of meetings, have only just had some lunch, and won't be home for a good 3.5 hours. Most of that 3.5 hours will be spent wedged into an economy class seat on a plane.

It was a lovely day today, two colleagues and myself took a ride out to Swanage and back. My ride was just under 25 miles.

I'm used to a 6-mile round-trip, so this totally killed my legs today. Found out that I am fast, but I've got no endurance - Was really really struggling for the last 10 miles, every hill hurt!

But what a lovely day and a great ride. 8)
