I am considering getting aTCR Advanced and want to know what I might be able to get for the chainset & wheels if I sold them on (on here/on ebay).

The reason for the sale would be wanting to change to a compact and because I already have some Fulcrum racing 3's.

CRANKS SRAM S500 Carbon 39/53 (rrp?)
WHEELS Mavic Ksyrium Elite (rrp £465)

I am not asking for bids - haven't even ordered the bike yet - but interested in your collective opinion of what would be realistic if I needed to sell.

Many thanks.
Rich

    Rich,
I am assuming because you say you haven't ordered the bike yet, that you are buying new from a shop?

If so, why can't the shop factor that in to the price? I am sure any good LBS would do - particularly as that is not exactly a budget bike!

When I bought mine, I wanted a triple but the LBS could only get a compact, so all they charged me was the actual sales price difference between the parts. This ammounted to about £50 for a 105 set-up.

Maybe they will not leave the wheels off but they should be able to do something about the chainset. I would then put the wheels on Ebay. They are now fetching silly prices with the general price hikes at the moment.

    Gary.

As you say, I haven't ordered the bike yet and will be buying new from a shop. In fact I am shopping for the best deal.

One LBS will factor both into the price. However, another won't, but they pffer a better topline price.

What do you reckon for the wheels? £325?
    And for the chainset. £75?

LBS A is at £2100 all in with compact & without wheels.
LBS B is at £2400 all in with compact, with double & with wheels.

So if i can get more than £300 for the SRAM S500 Carbon 39/53 & the Mavic Ksyrium Elites I am making a saving.

I think you should get more than that for those on e-bay, checkout other auctions for similar products. They really do go silly some times :)

How much are elites going for at the moment? There aren't any auctions about to finish as far as I can see...

    RRP just £112.

    So, £75 realistic? Surely...

cheapest 09 Elites I've seen are £360 so you could get close to that with a good ebay advert.

I think your valuations are pretty close.

If you go halway down in the boxes on the left of your ebay page once you have entered your search item, the left there is a completed listings box which will list any recently similar items sold, which will give goa very good idea.
