Please - anyone but Leipheimer. He makes Cadel Evans look like an attacking rider.
  • The time trial course in the Cinque Terre should be worth watching -- even if you don't find TTs interesting the stage should be good for the stunning scenery of the Ligurian coastline. Relatively little modern property development there, instead lots of old villages in cliff-hugging clusters on the hillsides.

    Cervélo team for the Giro:

Philip Deignan, Simon Gerrans, Volodymir Gustov, Jeremy Hunt, Ted King, Ignatas Konovalovas, Serge Pauwels, Hayden Roulston and Carlos Sastre.

Anyone have any thought on what, if anything, Sastre will do at the Giro? Has he stated whether he's going to go for the overall, or is it a glorified training race?

He's aiming for the podium as it's the only GT he hasn't finished on the podium in. He's Liege performance would suggest he's close to good form, although it's always hard to tell with Sastre.

Who the hell is Ted King btw? He sounds like he should be playing darts or snooker.

Please to see Jeremy Hunt get a start....hope he gets a stage win. IMO Sastre will know he is time limited now, age 33...so I doubt very much if this grand tour is mere training...he has few left as a n elite rider...he will ride well I bet, podium ...possibly win it
