Hi,

I am looking for a set of replacement 1" road forks for my Litespeed Classic 98 mod. As I will be riding unmade roads I am looking for a durable fork. Has anyone got any suggestions? The most suitable that I have found so far are some steel forks from Surly.

Cheers.

If you're looking for CF forks I've been using a set of Reynolds Ouzo's with a 1" alu steerer for about 10 yrs and they're still in great condition. I weigh around 90 kilos and have ridden on quite a bit of rough, pot holed roads. If you want to stick with steel try some of the UK frame builders or Fleabay is always good since so many people want to trade their steel forks for CF.

You could also ask around some of your LBS's. They may have some used or new steel spares lying around that they're desperate to get rid of.

If using a 1.125" headset call Roberts and get some steel ones made.
If using a 1" headset get some lovely chrome Tommasini forks from Bike Bits UK.
