gear problem

o took the bike out for a 5 mile ride and it wont come out of this random gear, i dont know if its the derailer not working or if the cables are stretched or if its both of them.
so i just want to know what to do first to check and how to check it? lol

took the bike to a shop today, and they said it deffo needs new cables.

so will these be ok?
