How much cooler will a Giro Atmos/Ionos be?

Considering buying one of these. Do they make much difference in helping to stay cool? I currently have a Giro Monza.
TIA.

The Ionos / Atmos is a lot cooler than the monza, although coolest of all is a classic cycling cap, although this won't help your head much if you crash.0

Aaaah, looking now I think I may have misunderstood what you ment by being cool.0

You may have done Napoleon, but you are correct in the important sense. And if you do die, at least whoever is scraping you up will know you are an icon of continental cool."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I've not used the Monza but the Atmos does help you stay a bit cooler, to the extent that I have to use my old helmet in winter. You can really feel the air whistling through the Atmos.0

trying to decide between budget and being in style with the pro cyclists for this year?
tho i got my giro atmos on ebay - an unwanted present
im wondering if it was because it came in an ionos box.
anyways whatever you choose either will be a lot cooler than the monza.0 -
The ionos will be a lot more ventilated than your monza.
I have an eclipse (the old version of the monza I think) and an ionos and I can't use my ionos in the winter for brain freeze. The ionos also comes with a little helmet liner to reduce some of the ventilation in cooler conditions.0 -
Sorry to contradict some of you other guys, but I honestly couldn't notice a difference when I bought an Ionos. OK, so I haven't used it in the height of summer yet, so perhaps I should still reserve judgement?
My old helmet was a MET Testagrossa (big bonce you see  ) and surprisingly it is actually lighter than my Ionos as well
OK. so it does look cooler, but I wouldn't say it is worth the extra money (I didn't pay full price for mine)
Hope this helps,

How about a Spec 2D S-works? 100g lighter than the Ionos. that's 2/3rds of the weight?
Saving a 1/10th of a kilo on ur head was a swaying factor to me... although i still havent stumped up the cash to get one yet
Just an idea0 -
As a serious answer, I have some lower range (30 quid) Giro and an Atmos.
The Atmos has much better ventilation than the cheaper one, in summer I hardly notice it.
In Winter my head gets cold unless I have a hat on.0 -
The 2d is also good - lighter than the ionos but not as well ventilated.
If you've got a small head, some of the colours are going cheap at sigmasport for £60:

IMHO most of the middle and upper end helmets will cool you down pretty much equally.
Or should I say won't let you heat up all that badly(c'mon, it's basically Styrofoam on your head and will retain either heat or cold). No helmet keeps your head cooler than not wearing one, despite the claims of "air conditioning for your head" and hype along those lines. That said I'm betting that most of the brands "work" equally in that they will all keep your head equally hotter than not wearing one. Did that make any sense?

the ionos is ice cold - even compared to a Pneumo - I wondered whether I'd forgotten to put it on0

The Spesh 2d is all I'll wear now. I bought it for MTB riding but will use it for road too as it's just so comfy0
