What did/do you guys drink when you go out. Most pubs seem to have little choice other than coke etc, which I really don't want to do.

I know I could probably find the answer to this if I searched enough, but it's Sunday afternoon and I'm too bloody lazy

Lime and Soda, Red Bull, J2O or my favourite route 55 which is Bitter Lemon and Grapefruit juice mixed.

I like britvic 55s, but not all pubs have them. Also orange and lemonade, appletise and ginger ale (has to be canada dry). Oh and lemonade. In fact, lemonade is my drink of choice...

Guinness or fiery ginger beer and when I'm very bad tequila

I'm now now allowing myself to drink a drop of alcohol until i've ridden at least 150 miles each week, then of course I'm going to drink like a fish until last thing Sunday night

Not drinking alcohol mean I'm pretty much forced to drink Coke, and there is only so much of that I can drink of a night. At least it makes for a cheap night.
Back in Ireland I'd have a whole supermarket of choice.

Is it really too much to ask for pubs to have Sprite/7 Up/Fanta in cans?

    Merlot and Adnams :)

Or seriously, Gin and Tonic. Use lime and full fat Tonic with crushed ice. Show the glass the Bombay Sapphire. Enjoy.

    If you get bored, Appletise.

What? Is she crazy? I'm sure that will use more energy than washing them.

    I sense irony.

As for the drinks, I usually start off with a few pints, then move on to Morgan's Spiced, Jack Daniel's and whatever else is put in front of me. Needless to say I get a taxi home!

Cheers guys, I should have clarified the OP, I'm now off the booze for the foreseeable future, so I'm no longer fuelled by Merlot and Adnams.

Oj and lemonade sounds favourite, as does lemonade and lime. Might give the Lime and soda a try as well

I know you mentioned Coke wasn't a favourite choice, but I used to have a bottle of it mixed with Pineapple juice in a pint glass. We called it "Thames Water" because it looks so murky, and the barman forced us to put ice in the top as it looked like dodgy beer :D

I drink soda water neat it's lovely, some people think i'm crazy but it tastes wierd enough that i can fool myself that it's alcoholic, you can only really get it in bars too, I don't like the feeling that I'm paying a fortune for something I've got at home.

    Oh and its free :D

I like soda water... and have a soda siphon (not a soda stream) at home for that reason... however some bars will still charge you for it.

Soda, tonic etc seem to come under mixers in most of the pubs I go to and cost more than the equivalent beer :x

So Rich is this for training purposes? Trying to shed a few more pounds to increase that power to weight ratio?

A number of reasons, but nothing training related unfortunately. Although I have shed about a stone in the last couple of weeks  so the power to weight ratio is looking pretty good at the moment.

Nice work on the weight loss, no wonder you were able to mix it with the pros! I've noticed a difference now that I have cut right back on the booze, it is certainly fattening.

It's cutting the crap out my diet that's helped me. No more chocolate biscuits, cakes or crisps. Now I get to eat what I want, when I want, cooked how I want it :lol:

And I don't know about mixing it with the pro's, from the speed the Rapha Condor guys went past me on one hill they were toying with us

I had a look at the Condor site and I really want one of those Leggeros - mmmm tasty. Not sure it will pass scrutineering though and besides I need a new kitesurf kite before thinking about a new bike.

Anyone up for robbing a bank? I have a plan we can go disguised as MP's, they are crooks anyway.
