Popped into one of my more local bike shops today and saw one of these bikes inthere for 449, If i decide to buy it i will barter with them so don't worry about price just yet, the spec looked pretty good apart from two main factors - the alvio mechs and shifters which i suppose could be changed later on if need be.
And also I am unsure about the fork - RST gila pro, didn't ask the travel but there seems to be contradicting information on sites but the diamondback website says 100mm where a shop site says 120mm. has remote lockout and also the remote lever goes in stages before it fully locks out so you can adjust the stiffness from the handlebars. Never mind, i have searched this site and google but not come up with much info for this years response bike or that particular fork, even looking at reviews on here doesn't come up with much.
Apart from that it looks like a pretty sound bike, interesting frame design, looks nice, highly rated brakes and i dont know much about wheels to be fair. fury is better for the money defo but want something a bit different to the usual if i can help it

which Diamondback Response 09 model are you referring to? because I don't see the Gila fork on any of them.
What about the Response Comp with Rock Shox Tora 289?0 -

I have't seen one locally in any shops so hadn't really thought about it, The problem is, there is so many bikes out there - I am limiting myself to the ones i can access locally so that I can take them for a test ride and size them up etc.
then ask opinions on here, but i will look up the comp because im sure the LBS could probably get it in, problem is, they prob wouldn't wanna get it in just for me to have a test ride on it0 -
I just checked and there are two websites for N.A. and UK for Diamondback and it looks like they have different products too.

So I'm not sure if you can get the Comp since its not available on the UK site.0
