I have this frame:
http://www.kinesisbikes.co.uk/product.php?id=3
and have bought this headset:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0298451890
woolly hat assured me it was the right headset for the frame.
After reading Parktool, it would appear that these type of headsets do not need pressed in, the cartridge bearings simply sit inside the headtube, resting on the "lips". I ahve had a trial fit, and the bearings just seem loose, nothing seems to hold them inplace?

I've assembled it with my old forks and it looks about right, just need confirmation before I install the crown race etc..
Cheers all

Woolly Hat have foooked up.
You need a Zero Stack or Internal headset.
They have sold you an 'integrated' headset (they have named it wrongly as internal). Internal have shallow cups that fit into the frame, integrated have no cups. You need cups!0 -
wrong headset.
what is the internal diameter of the headtube?
44mm"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
I thought as much!
I specifically asked them, even sent them the link to the frame!!!
Yeh, frame is 44mmID.
I'll get onto them and get tis sent back!
Thanks chaps!0 -

I thin I'm going mad here!!
Why can't I find a Zero Stack, internal semi-intergrated (whatever the fook they are callled!!) for about £20??
Wiggle, CRC only seem to stock 1 or 2, and even then the use even more different names!
Is this type of headset an oddball or something?
:? :x
EDIT: Is this one:

And more important - any good?0 -
Fairly common, but the retailers frequwntly give them the wrong name.
Have a look at this:
