.... They have this week saved me a fortune.
Lawnmower broke down so went to a gardening forum and hey presto someone knew how to fix my briggs and stratton sprint engine, cost - £1.96 for a gasket.
Washing machine broke down so went to a fix it forum, someone knew that it was my pump and explained where to get one and how to change it, cost £17.00 for a new pump.
8 year old Canon Powershot A75 camera broke so went to a photography forum, got directed by a link to canon website section that stated I could get a FREE repair due to a faulty CCD that should have been recalled, cost - £5.40 postage.
Now if we weren't in the middle of hard times I would have usually just dumped all 3 and bought new, cost approx £500.00 so feeling a little smug and am off to the lbs for some carbon bars with the money I have saved :P

I've got a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower and it's not working properly either! What was the name of the forum you went to?
Cheers0 -
I've had same things with my washing machine and tumble drier.
Internet can be a great place to look for a remedy.
With the washing machine a few years ago when it broke down, enginneer came out, took top off it and replaced the motor brushes.Charged us £55 with call out.Quick search of the model on Ebay and 2 pairs of brushes for a couple of quid and a bit of postage. No more rip off repair men for me.0 -
I wouldnt buy carbon bars, seems you are jinxed, amount of breakages you have had....0
