wanted route for East Lancs
Any one got a route for the East Lancs area preferrably one that doesnt involve to much bog hopping.
The only one I can find is the Mary Townley loop which is a bit over the top for a fat git like me. I am looking for something around the 20 mile distance. Something that loops off the Mary Townley would be nice so I can at least say I have started it.

That'll be me then - PM me your e-mail address (unless I've got it already??) and I'll send you some route maps. I might even offer to guide you if you wave a packet of Hob-Nobs in my direction...0

Bloody hell... Hob-Nobs!!
Dave, your charging way too much. Tesco's value custard creams at best!0 -
Seeing as I was nearly knocked off my bike by a Tesco delivery van yesterday, Tesco have got a lot of sucking up to do.
In any case, they're nearly all made in the same factory anyway. If it isn't United Biscuits it's McVities.0 -
Found a route off The woolybacks site called Around Rossendale. We started in Lumb near Waterfoot it follows Pennine Bridle Way to Holme Chapel then the pack horse route to Cornholme then Flower path to Bacup and back to Lumb via Waterfoot.
Brilliant route bits of everything nice climbs, bit of bog hopping and some good descents, too many bl**dy gates though. Weather was fantastic we could see Burnley in all its glory (unfortunately)
We parked in Lumb near a lovely pub the Hargreaves Arms which served us the best pint of Moorehouses Premier bitter we have ever had.
