I am going to test ride a Boardman Team this weekend (if the rain stops). If I like it, is it worth asking for a discount of some sort? I know if you don't ask you don't get, but if they do generally offer discounts, what should I be looking for?

Many thanks,
Ian

Might be of use to others:- I found a scratch on the bike (Boardman Team @ £799.99) so, as they were not able to get another one (there is only one other in the country in my size at the moment, and lots on order (I saw their computer screen)), they offered me 10% worth of accessories.

Bought the bike from Bikehut in Dorking - good service from them, happy to let me go for a ride (more than the Canterbury store would) and good advice on what I needed.

Another poster mentioned that you get 15% discount at Halfords/BikeHut if you are a member of British Cycling. I briefly looked into it and it looks like all you need is a 'Bronze Competitive' membership at £13.50 a year to get the discount. So all in you'd save yourself over 100 quid on the bike and get all the other British Cycling benefits from the bronze scheme.

    Unless I'm missing something?
