Packable Jacket

I am looking to get a jacket that can be packed down small, so I can take it with me incase it rains or put it on at the start of a ride. I have a fully waterproof jacket but it takes up too much room in my hydration pack and is a bit overkill now it's getting a bit warmer.
Ideally it will be waterproof (or showerproof), windproof and breathable. I have a budjet of £30 to £40.
The ones that I'm interested in are:
Cannondale packme
Montane Featherlite Velo
Montane Featherlite Velo H20
Is there anything else I should consider?
Which is best?
Cheers
Craig.

I've got a couple of Montanes, the gilet (which is apparently french for big gay vest) and one of the waterproofs... Very good, they are. The zip is delicate to make it packable, and the material's thin but tough. They're TINY though, the gilet's about the size of a small supermarket apple though it squishes smaller if you squeeze it, the sleeved jacket not much bigger. Not especially breathable, but well vented, and mine haven't leaked yet. Just right for throwing in a bag when you think it might rain, I'm not sure they'd be the best choice for when you're sure it will though, mine have never leaked but they don't reallly inspire that much confidence!Uncompromising extremist0

I got one from Halfords for about £25. Packs down to about the size of 2 fag packets, probably less if you squash it down further. It's definitely wind proof and shower proof although I've never washed it, which normally doesn't help light weight waterproofs.0

thats pretty good that - not sure about the free fitting by trained professionals though :shock:0 -
Thanks for the help guys.
The Polaris does look good, especially for the price
I'm still drawn to the Montane Velo though it gets good reviews.
Has anyone got a Canondale pack me? Or suggest any of the above or anything else?0 -

Do they professionaly fit Lycra shorts too??0 -
I looked at the Altura Pocket Rocket today. It packs down small as tiny, is breathable and waterproof. It is bright yellow too which is good. Didn't buy it though as it was 49.95 and it is probably cheaper elsewhere.0

I can recommend the Montane Velocity DT Jacket.
Waterproof to a min of 10m hydrostatic head, not too 'boil in the bag' & packs very small.
Had some use the last few days, blooming weather.0 -
If you have a T K Maxx near by Montane jackets have been in there for about £20Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0

Yes, and after a ride, they come round with tyre levers to remove them!0 -
I've got a Montane Featherlite H20 which I use for dune running, because it packs tiny and weighs bugger all, I wouldn't rely on it to keep me dry in the slightest it just make the rain not as bad. It is far more rugged than it initaly seems though that isn't saying too much for 50 denier fabric Though maybe torrential rain being blown at speed over the irish sea is a bit more than was inteded for this jacket, the biggest problem is the amount of water that is let in down your neck. I like it but it is by no means perfect, the benifits outweigh the shortcomings for what I want.-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford? :roll:0 -
i have a montane "featherlite smock". great "pack just in case" jacket, very small and light.
got it for well under £20 from here:
