Knowing that it will change absolutely nothing, I've created a petition on the No.10 website, ASL-Enforcement.

Have you remembered to click on the link in the email they send to you? That confirms you are real (kind of).
And +1 for the petition - it's got my signature on it now as well.Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.0 -

I usually point out the error of their ways to offenders, which usually elicits one of four responses:
the fixed stare ahead,
"It was empty when I arrived",
"You don't pay road tax" (actually, I pay £185 pa VED, but I don't recall reading anything in the small print allowing me to break the law),
threats of violence (as happened yesterday).
Incidentally, has anyone on here requested statistics on numbers of (un)/successful prosecutions in, say, each of the last five years for which figures are available, via Freedom of Information legislation?Ceps, morelles, trompettes de mort. Breakfast of champignons.0 -

Thanks Chuck,
now signed.
I have remonstrated occasionally when I judge I won't be in danger by doing so.
Last 2 offenders I complained to were both Met Police vehicles. :-(
2nd driver told me she was in active pursuit of a shoplifter , if that was the case I wondered why she didn't switch on the lights and go through the lights entirely.
Meant to complain, but had forgotten vehicle reg by time I got home.
Might still do this as both incidents were near to each other (Twickenham & Teddington) so perhaps there's a chance that both drivers are based at same station.
I agree that Scooters are the worst offenders

No I haven't publicized anywhere else, I barely have enough time as it is between coming home and going to bed, not even enough time to ride a bike in the evenings anymore.
On the other hand now that I'll soon have an income coming in for the first time in 6 months I'' soon be able to afford to get a trainer/rollers/new bike
Feel free all to publicise as much as you want and to submit your own ideas to No.10 or wherever you think it will make a difference!'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....0
