A parish council are leaving potholes unmended and saying it's for road safety reasons, utter cretins!
Even the woman from BRAKE (who seem to want the man with a red flag brought back) doesn't agree with it.
So what makes a good traffic calming measure? We have stupid chicanes on our road, which is more than wide enough for two streams of traffic, but I've had more near misses on my bike at the chicanes than anywhere else - although when I drive I do like to pretend I'm in a touring car when I go through them.
Normal speed humps are generally unpleasant too, and on an old road I lives on they were cobbled which really battered the tisnae when you went over them.

Just whack on a Quick-Step Jersey and pretend it's Roubaix pave.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0

A Local Authority spent over £1000 repairing my car a few years ago after it "fell into" a crevice, I know that they also paid for at least 6 other cars damaged by the same hole. They fixed the hole very quickly.0

I fear my gut would stretch the Quick-Step jersey to levels beyond readable.
The quality of the roads round here is very poor, maybe we should start a roadworks forum so that when a road has just been resurfaced we can all enjoy some smooth riding before it gets dug up again......0
