Hi All
I'm after some help/advice/information really.
I think that I am on the look out for a new bike, but am not quite sure what to go for...... I currently have a hybrid Giant FCR 2, which is a nice bike, but doesn't particularly do anything brilliantly. I have used it for commuting (only a short ride, and sometimes cycle to gym/elsewhere afterwards), triathlons (sprint events), longer rides (60-70 miles)at the weekends etc. I am wanting to do all of the above, and maybe some touring also (really fancy doing Lands End to John O'Groats, or maybe some cycling holidays in Norway etc).
So my question is - what aort of bike should I go for? Or will I need more than one bike to fulfill all of my criteria well? As I said, I like my current bike, but it doesn't do anything well enough.
I have looked at the starter-tri packs like this one here;(https://www.sigmasport.co.uk/app/secure ... ilyID=1901)
I was planning on buying a wetsuit/tri suit anyway so thought this might be a good bet.
I am thinking that a road bike (with the additional tri bars) will be sufficient for my standard of triathlete :-) but will these king of bikes be good for 100 mile rides at the weekend? comfy enough etc?
My budget is not fixed yet, but I am looking for good quality equipment that I can keep/use for a number of years ahead. I would prefer to spend now, rather than looking again in 3 years and eishing I had got somethign different.......
Any help/advice will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Andy

For most of your use I would suggest a road bike. I'm quite comfortable riding 100 miles plus on mine. However it isn't going to be so good for touring holidays as you won't be able to carry much/any luggage.0
