Getting slightly worried now - training not going well!!!

Basically due to working long shifts (12/13 hours), having to contend with family life on days off and this HORRIBLE, SQUALLY, FOG/MIST/RAIN today.
Have my first organised event in about 8 weeks now and I've not had the chance to ride as much as I'd like. Thinking of using the bikes in the gym, anything to help get some miles into my legs.
Alternatively, commute to work. Which brings me nicely back to the weather. Grrr.....

The weather might be bad on the day of the organised event as well, so it is worth getting used to riding in bad weather.0

You're right of course, and as I've just realised, I'm being a moany, whining old git.
Where is my backbone? I'm from the frozen wastelands of the North - this weather today is nowt.0 -
dude, I cycled in from Morpeth this morning (to the Freeman) and quickly wished I had the car, especially when I flatted next to Gosforth Rugby Club and had no spares, then ruined my cleats walking the 2 1/2 miles to work, then the half mile back to steels to get a new tube (and cleats!), then had the commute home in the same HORRIBLE, SQUALLY, FOG/MIST/RAIN, a headwind all the way back.
How do I feel? still tring to warm up! but glad I did go today (despite the outlay).
Get out and ride dude, oh, and stop whinging and, and I'm sorry to use this anagram but - M.T.F.U
What you doing on Saturday morning, 636sean and myself will be heading out somewhere near yours for a 60+'er if fancy it? (we will be stopping for oven-bakey-cakyness so I'm led to be believed, at Chollerford  ). We will be coming back via the Ryals, just so we can relive the PPPAAAIIINNN (said in the style of Mr T  ) of the Cyclone (which I presume is the event you're doing?).0 -

I know, I know, I should have rode out. My own fault for being a lazy bugger!
As for saturday, I've got ANOTHER 12 hour shift at work from 8 - 8. Another time? PM me if this is possible as I'm interested in getting out and about.
