    Back to the OP

If you are thinking about getting a Brooks saddle then the Brooks Imperial is getting some good comments. It's a B17 with a cutout.

If you think the B17 is too wide then the Swift or the Swallow might suit you

Greg - get one! Nothing says "Please excuse me as I blast past you but I must insist I really am not trying" like a beautiful work-in Brooks saddle. Surely must be a FCN modifier?

Well we do have twice as many "experienced" votes in favour than against and of those who have never tried one we have 100% band wagon jumping and ill informed support - there has to be something in it.

EDIT - Ah - we have found an lone hater of the leather armchair who hasn't tried one - truly a free mind and nay sayer - well done

I like the sound of Swift - modern saddles normally come with squiggles, umlauts and pronunciation instructions.

I notice the goat based smut has calmed down which is in my opinion a retrograde step but thems the breaks
Fixed gear for wet weather / hairy roadie for posing in the sun.

LiT's out of the country. We are trying to resume normal service but keeping it up is increasingly difficult.

I think it all comes down to how you break the leather in - cream may assist but there will inevitably be chafing

I had a go on someone else's and the creases were in the wrong place so it wasn't my cup of tea at all, made my eyes water after a while, regardless of whether I went easy or really gave it some hammer

Personally I would always go with bandwagon jumping and ill informed support - of course what you may have not considered is the malevolent minority such as myself who are merely encouraging you in order to see what happens - shame about the goats

Are we still talking about Brookes saddles or are we back on the goatherds?

Chafing appears inevitable in either case

    Stop it.

Come clean about these continental plans and let us get on with our denial...

    'WHERE'S MY FORK AND FRAMESET?'

That might get better results if you pronounced it "WHERE'S MY FORK'N FRAMESET'
