Didn't Ballan win that Vuelta MTF from a break? In which case, he wasn't hanging with the climbing contenders.

Not an all-rounder in my book.

    Quite.

OK, what if we add in his skills as a TV commentator? That has to be an extra string to his bow. I hear he did a great job on Sunday

    The complete all-rounder!

Edit: Sorry, I meant Ballan. He was on the mic for RAI.

cunego's GC performances at GTs were half a decade ago...he is a one day man it seems

Contador would be if he would ride Liege and Fleche, Amstel...he'd win one , no? I'd say he is the best and by far IF he would ride the classics and Lombardy. Bruyneel is the prob

    Cunego's most recent Giro's
    4th in 2006
    5th in 2007

That's not half a decade ago

Also he was 4th in the Tour de Suisse last year

Valverde, Di Luca and Cunego are the stand out all rounders in my book.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

So, after Qatar, having finished 2nd overall, I would say Haussler is a pretty good allrounder. He's had a Tour breakaway victory, a M-SR and Flanders 2nd, several cobbled classics top tens, and he's a top sprinter as well.

Nicolas Roche would be up there if he would put a bit more focus on L-B-L, Amstel and Lombardy as well as the Tour
