Wiggins ala Rasmussen
Saw these pictures of Mr Wiggins.
I know he said he was going to lose some weight now that he's focussing properly on the road (like any good cyclist should...), but, well... He's looking a bit like Rasmussen to me here!

Doesn't seem to have lost too much off the upper body though. It looks a bit odd to me.

Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.

Yea he looks incredibly skinny- especially in the first photo- Imagine how he'll look at the end of the season! His legs look wafer thin in the first picture.
I thought he was a time trialist anyway- why does he care if he's a few sausage sandwiches heavier than the pure climbers?0 -
He's focussing on the road so he can afford to lose a bit of bulk in order to improve his ability to climb and generally to carry less weight around.Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0

Wow, maybe he'd be better off in the Ardennes. :shock:0

It's just the way he is built....... I swapped off turns for 80k's with him and a few others in a race in Australia a few years ago, trust me, his legs were skinny then and he could still drive it!!!!! I've seen guys with huge ripped legs who couldn't pull the skin off a rice custard after 10k's!!!0

He's done pretty well at Paris-Roubaix, possibly even better if he hadn't gone end over that crashing Italian!
Compare pictures of a young Ekimov to the latter version too.Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0 -
He wouldn't want a sudden gust of wind to appear. I wonder where the power comes from.0

Cycling is an aerobic sport, it's not about weight lifting. His thin legs act like levers and don't take up much space into a headwind. But he does have a very-stick like build these days.0

Maybe he's in secret training for the knobbly knees competition at Butlins ?
I'm not sure he can take the Tour prologue - but I'd bet on him at the holiday camp.
Great ride at Roubaix - I'd never have thought of him as a contender !0 -
Sure, but prologue and track specialists typically have very different body shapes, more accustomed to sprinters than climbers. Wiggins is clearly going the opposite.direction0

Guess Ullrich's, Cancellara's etc legs aren't aerobic then eh....
Cycling is predominantly aerobic if we are talking road cycling, but during any exercise all energy systems get used to varying degrees. Just because someone is a large build, yet lean doesn't mean they're not as aerobic as a skinny legged freak!!!! In fact one effect of endurance training can be that some fast twitch mucle fibres will convert to slow twitch mucle fibres, doesn't mean they magically get incredibly much more smaller, naturally they will change shape to a certain degree....
Guess Ivan's legs aren't aerobic for the 199.7kilometres before the 300metre sprint

Just as well he shaves his legs or you wouldn't get to see his full muscle definition.Mañana0 -
Pfft. Fat cow, he wants to go on a diet
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

I guess the Vaughters/Lim scientific approach to diet at Garmin is 'paying off' - certainly read a few articles on this.0

Is that this zonal diet thing?0

I can't help but think that the mud/dust on his legs in the photo posted by the OP coupled with the fact that he is holding his legs up at an angle accentuates the look of emaciation.0
