Wheels under £250??

Hello
My wheels are a bit worn and am looking for some replacements - I'm currently torn between the Easton EA50 SL, Shimano Ultegra 6600 and the Quest Scafell wheels (which seem too good to be true at under £200 and weighing just 1535g - anyone tried them???).
My budget is £250 and I'm a light rider. Any advice?
Thanks.

Hi Sheila - and welcome to BR.
Both good choices (EA50SLs / 6600's) - couple of other options/possibilities - Planet X Model B's, Racing 5 Evo's, Xero XR Carbon's (some people say the Xero's are fragile, others say they're solid-enough and a good-purchase). I'd be happy on any of them for under £250 (I'd personally possibly plump for the 6600's, but am not sure - difficult choice).
Should be more reccomendations/ideas from others.0 -
All good choices and I would go for the Eastons if it was my money. Have you thought about handbuilts? at your budget you could get some nice wheels built up exactly to your specification.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

and there's always handbuilts. Open Pros on, say Ultegra, would come in close to your budget.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

stay away from the quest scaffels ... too good to be true is just that.
the ultegras are good.0 -
Bontrager RaceLites hit the mark at that price - bulletproof (no truing required in 4 years for my 105kg frame, 4000+km/year), reasonably light, and quite good looking (not that that matters  )
Cheers,

I use both the Easton EA50SLs and Ultegra 6600s and I don't think you'd be disappointed with either of them. It's a close run thing but my slight preference would be for the Eastons.0

I would second Harry Rowland. I bought a set of wheels of him last year and they are running fantastic. They are also a damn site easier to maintain than factory wheels. I reckon a set of Ultegara on Open Pros will be about on your budget.0
