Replacement pads for a helmet?

Does anyone know if it is possible to get replaced pads for specialized helmets? I have an Air-8 and the pads are predictably starting to fall to bits, not that they're much good at soaking up sweat anyway.

(Alternate suggestions for helmet pads welcome)

I'm interested to follow this one, too. I would like to replace my MET pads as they are truly manky, even after washing. MET do pads as a spare part on their website but my particular helmet seems to be obsolete.

Ideally it should be possible to just buy a sheet of the cloth-backed foam stuff and cut out the shapes required, but I don't know where to find such a thing.

Ask in your LBS, they usually have the spares left over when they sell helmets. I managed to blag some Giro pads for my ancient Centurion from mine.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

My mate owns a bike shop that sells Specialized and I asked him just a couple of weeks ago if he could get me some replacement helmet pads for my Air8. He reckons Specialized don't like selling them to the public cos they want the mugs, sorry I meant paying punters, to buy a new helmet instead. Bit of a rip off if you ask me but what can you do? My helmet still has another year of life left in it (assuming I change it every 3 years) but the pads are totally minging now. When I buy my next helmet I'll definitely be checking to see if I can buy replacement pads at the same time.

Wiggle sell them for several brands, but not Spesh. Now we know why. It is a shame that a brand with such a good reputation for attention to detail should be so cynical with their customer base.

I'm hoping that in a few years time we will be able to look back on this "corporate banker mentaility" with an appropriate degree of shame and relief that the world has finally come to its senses.

It's just what I've heard but in fairness I've not approached Spesh directly about it. In other regards I've found Spesh to be pretty reasonable.

Given the possible gap in the market, I wonder if any companies make 'generic' pads that happen to fit Spesh helmets or whether that would contravene a patent.
