GT Avalanche 1.0 V Kona Blast

Hi, I'm about to buy my first bike since I was a kid but can't decide between these two bikes below. The bike will be used mainly for forrset trails and some riding round about the southern cairngorms. The GT costs £400 And the Kona £380. Any thoughts appreciated.

GT Avalanche 1.0 2008
Frame:
GT triple triangle design 6061 aluminium with a hydro formed downtube and a zero stack headtube. Disc compatible with a removable derailleur hanger.
Fork:
SR X-100 with 100mm of travel and 32mm stanchions. Magnesium lowers with lock out, preload and hydraulic damping.
Front Derailleur:
Shimano Deore.
Rear Derailleur:
Shimano Deore LX Lo-normal.
Shifters:
Shimano Deore 9 speed separate.
Chainset:
Shimano, 9 speed, octalink compatible.
