Mind you he reckoned they wouldn't do both the Kebel and the Kharma for much longer (ie they would do one or the other)
Kharma has been around for a while, beautiful bike but I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced it. Would much prefer if they kept the name for whatever frame replaces the current Kharma.
Kebel and Kharma are essentially the same 12K carbon, different weave. The kebel is slightly lighter with a more race orientated geometry. Not seeing the point in the market for the Kebel it's too close to the Kharma to be a mid level between the Kult/Kredo/KOM (Kredo and KOM are about £1800 for the frame) aand Kharma. Personally think the Kebel needs a materials (carbon used to make it) upgrade to really be a mid level bike in the range.Food Chain number = 4
A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game0 -
Liking the new bike.
I have just ordered Dura Ace 7850 wheels for my Kebel via my LBS and cant wait to ride it weekend 26th Sept with the new wheels on.0 -

Agreed, they are very close in everything - the Kbel would have cost me an extra £90 - didn't like the colour schemes though. Kebel is only 50g lighter. looking at those stats couldn't beleive how heavy the stated weight is for the kharma 1260 without forks - doesn't feel that heavy.0 -

A couple of quick questions
1. There are a few comments about the tyres that bad, should i replace them, and what is recommended?
2. People are saying that the San Marco saddle is poor, is this true or just personal preference, if it is that bad any recommendations? My Bikes

Cant decide on which handlebars to upgrade to int eh future - thinking Deda Electa. Will stick with the black bar tape and may upgrade to carbon tape now that it has been mentioned, I think I need it in my life!
LOVE the way it handles, HATE the LBS in South London I bought it from who like to charge over the odds for the bike until you remind them that all other LBSs are selling it cheaper! If you go in there, please haggle them down and remind them the other LBS is easy to reach too!
Kingrollo - great looking bike, Brozie - awesome wheels man, DonDaddyD - dope! ANy Nas fan on a Kharma is a freind of mine! btw - what saddle is that - Selle?
]
My saddle is a Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow. Take a look at Kuota Katch handlebars, I love the way they feel and the cable-inserts.
On my wheels, I just removed the red decals ; I thought they looked a bit too flashy - I kept the Ursus decals and I find them even more attractive now - but that's just personal taste :roll:0 -

It is quite hard - let's say I liked it, but my sitting bones really didn't ...
Again, that's personal taste0 -

Kuota M, thank you! My seat is Selle Italia gel flow saddle. Nas is awesome.
Dicky Dolan, I changed the saddle as the original felt hard and I wanted to save £50.
Tyres, I think there is one main distributor of the bike in the UK and its fitted with Conti Ultra Sport, which I suppose is enough to test ride the bike and ride it home.
Personally I would upgrade the bike to Conti GP4000s, Attack/Force, Schwable Ultremo, Stelvio or Mich Pro 3 - that sort of level.Food Chain number = 4

Im getting a touch of backache (old problem) will probably change the bars - but that saddle doesn't feel the greatest - although I have never spebt seruious cash on a saddle - charge spoon might be next - due to being pretty cheap !0

Kuota M wrote:I rode the Selle San Marco for 4 weeks and hated every horrible second of it. Some stores have test saddles to try before committing what can be a lot of money
I also hated it, so I got a test saddle from my LBS. I tested it for about 200km and spent the 90 extra euros without hesitating. Now, my a** still says "thanks" every time I mount my bike0 -
Here is a link to my paypal account .................I must have those carbon wheels .....what are they ? and how much !
Don't ride this bike with those conti ultrasports - don't know about the punctures - but you really are throttling the bikes performance. Its close to towing a trailer on it , compared to the pro race 3's - heard good things about the conti's too
Can't wait to see some live pictures of the 2010 bike ?
Whats the fastest youve clocked so far then guys ? 43.9 mph !!!!0 -
Mine's a 2005 model (must post pics at some point), bought frame only and specced as I wanted it. Pro Race in light blue to match the bar tape, arione saddle, centaur carbon group and kysrium elite wheels 8)
Fasted clocked speed so far: 51.6mphCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -

My carbon wheels are the URSUS MIURA C58 (italian).
The fastest I went this season was 85km (52.82 mph), going down the "Kwaremont", one of our typical flemmish hills - I didn't even have my carbon wheels then0 -
Kuota produces great bikes with great prices. My wife rides a Kharma and really likes it. If you are looking for comfort, you can't really find anything better. As far as climbing is concerned, I would recommend moving up to the Kebel. I ride the Kebel and have ridden a Kharma and the difference on climbs is night and day. That being said, the Kebel, while comfortable for a race bike, is much stiffer than the Kharma making it less comfortable. You are going to have to decide what is more important to you, stiffness for climbing or comfort for long days in the saddle.0

Dropping down bryn-y-tail past Llyn Clwedog Resevior towards Llandiloes - but then at the bottom there was a tight right hander, which led to white knuckles and a climb back up which dropped me into single figure speeds within 20 metresCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -
Thanks for your thoughts i will definately bear them in mind before i collect the bikeMy Bikes

That deep front end on the Kharma sure makes going down hill fun! It just points the bike into the racing line and never lets go...MmmmmmmFood Chain number = 4

and your top speed ?
I'll have to get back to you on this one, I'm between cycle computers at the moment and I want to record my speed on the Attack/Force tyres.Food Chain number = 4

Know what you mean - Slowdown cp has really thrown down the gauntlet with his 51.6 - but Im sure dondaady can beat it, with his attaks on !0 -
While i have all of your ears, i need a rear light, normally i would have my light on the seat post, but with the aero shaped seat post does anyone know of a light that would fit?My Bikes

Nothing but the sweet supple will not-scratch-the-frame gel-like-silicone of the Knog Lights is touching my Kharma's frame....Food Chain number = 4
