Insurance question

Since insuring my bike against theft involves using and proving I have used a lock which would render the bike "un-nickable" and so make the whole point of insuring the bike, well, pointless........
Cand I insure my bike less expensively for liability and damage from an accident and leave out the whole theft element and therefore spend less money?
Does that make any sense at all? It's been a long day :?

Liability is covered as standard under your home contents policy anyway. Not sure about the damage though, do you have it insured on its own or under your house policy?Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

If it's unknickable, the only thing to worry about is how likely you are to claim for damage that you've caused, it's unlikely you'd smash it up enough for it to be worth claiming for.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

I take it what you require is 3rd party liability insurance as opposed to a fully comp policy.
The answer is yes.
" cycle liability insurance " into google brings up quite a few results.
I can't say I require it myself so have not looked into the results in depth.
Perhaps somebody else has such a policy & can advise you better.
This was one of the first results http://www.cycleguard.co.uk/
Hope that helps.Volition & freedom is within the remit of a democratic society.
Not everybody agrees with your point of view though.0 -
