Budget Shorts

I'm a bit lost in the world of shorts, and need a bit of help. Been using my Endura Humvees since I got my road bike, but I think it's time to move away from baggy and embrace the lycra.
From this months C+ I think I have decided on Altura Pro Gel shorts. I have found them for £35 on Ribble, but would I be better off paying a further tenner for the bib version?
I have also found the Airstream bib for £35, which has just confused things a bit further....
Any advice?

The airstreams seem quite reasonably rated dont they. If they're anything like the gloves they should be nice and cool. If it rains you'll end up freezing at this time of year LOL. Personally I dont wear shorts, and have only just switched to lycra myself (using ronhill and salomon running leggings). Mine have the airvents and are really nice to ride in tbh0
