Front Wheel Build

Just had a rear wheel built up.
Now planning to have a new front wheel built.
Mavic 717 rim
DT double butted spokes
Hub to be decided.
Budget £100
The front wheel at present is an Alex24 with a Shimano FHRM65 hub.
Any ideas how much weight I could save?
Starting to think I may be better saving a few extra pounds and buying a lighter crankset.
Much of the weight in the rear build was saved by the XT cassette and kevlar tyre.
Please advise, thanks!

With an XT centrelock hub you may save 200g max.
Alex Dm24 rin weighs 495g, the 717 is 400g.
I would guess the hub is 30-40g lighter, and the butted spokes should save another 40-50g.0 -
Equally the new wheel will be a fiar bit stronger, how much so you weigh, you could go down to fewer spokes?0

Lighter wheels are better than a lighter crankset!
Reducing unsprung rotating mass (i.e. wheels) is the best way to make a bike feel lighter, sharper handlign and faster.0 -
But you can often save lot more just by swapping tyres.....2006 Giant XTC
