cue opening a can of worms topic ...

hi , i have a met stradivarious approx 4 years old , no major bumps just the usual scuffs and usage marks ....now then ...the worms..

thinking of buying new "lid " and have been offered a giro atmos for reasonable price , but looking at it i doesnt seem to be remarkably different from the met . ( i have read extensive stuff about the lifespan of a helmet but im not to sure if i buy into it .....i.e if its on a shop shelf for 2 years does that count ?!?!? ..etc etc ....different issue that for another time ! )

has any one got any feedback re fit , feel etc particularly regarding the straps ( which seem a different layout then the met )

the only problem i have noticed over the years with the met is that i get a pressure point near the temples after a couple of hours ( helmet is right size ) and have read via google that the Giro has a similar issue on the skull .

any feedback appreciated

I have had a Met and now have a Giro Ionos (should be similar fit to the Atmos), both were comfy for me - it is all going to depend on your particular head shape so I think you need to try them. The Giro will be perfectly comfy if your head is the correct shape

I have a Met Strad and a Giro Atmos, apart from the colour choice there is very little difference in fit. On balance I think the Met straps are slightly more comfy but theres not much in it. I would go for the best deal.

You do need to try them on for fit. I wore Giro then went to Met and then back to Giro - the fit is better for me.

I have a Giro Atmos and recently wanted to change helmet so it went with the colour scheme on my new bike ( i admit it, i am a tart  ) .. I opted for a Katlike Kompact Pro and in my opinion the comfort and quality of the helmet is far superior to the Giro.

  • Is the Catlike Kompact Pro sizing similar to Giro sizing. I take a large in a Giro but if I bought a Catlike it would have to be mail order as there are no stockists in my area.
Is the Met sizing similar too? I know its best to try first but all I can try here is Giro or Specialized top end helmets.

I have a medium Giro Atmos and a medium Catllike Kompact, my Catlike came from Prendas who I am sure would exchange if the helmet your ordered was an incorrect size.
