So there I was in the bath (not a pretty site I can tell you) reading my latest copy of Dirt Magazine, and there was a little piece about how a guy was going back into doing a DH stage... senior he described himself as....
Now I can relate to the senior aspect, but not in mind as I am still 18......my GF tells me that sometimes.. but hey you're only as old as the person you're feeling.. is that right..
So I was thinking of doing a DH event later this year (bike upgrade pending) and was wondering.....is it a state of mind or body?
How old is too old for DH......???
me personally it would be when my knees and elbows stop working and even drinking WD40 wont help.
peace

I am twice your age and there are older riders out there having fun.
Just takes longer for us Oldies to heal. (and We dont bounce quite as well as we used to)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I got a Zesty 714 and am about to get a Froggy 518, cause the stuff I like at 36 years old isn't just XC and trail but some more Hectic DH and singletrack. Get a bike that gives you more confidence, then trash the hell out of it! :P0

I know ha ha 28 next month so was too young to go but I remember having all the tapes ha ha - there not printing details of the route as people will try and practise it and the police and council would probably ruin the whole thing but I definately read somewhere that it finishes down on the quayside which makes sense really - im getting all excited about it, not gonna compete but will be up there with bike generally pratting about and drinking dog !!0

nice, may fire down for it and give it a go... I really can't think of what route it's gonna be unless it's up and down up and down sort of enduro event, if pure urban DH then it's got to be lots of steps... dogg leap stairs perhaps? if I dont end up doing it should get some great shots on the old slr.
peace and have a good weekend mate.

could be aye, never thought of that. watch out for the ducks in leazes park though mate they bite0 -
there was an urban DH jam here in edinburgh a couple of years back, starting at edinburgh castle espanade and ending in the grass market....
lots of steps....they also built a big bridge over a road to join two bits of downstep together, so be prepared to be quite surprised at how good these folks can be at building a track out of nothing!Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.
