I figured i'd post up a wee introduction to my latest project, some of you will know i was looking at buying a new frame, others will know i did just that. Well while im waiting for it to arrive i figured i'd make a project thread so everyone can follow the build of what is hopefully going to be my XC racer.
To be honest its going to be used mostly for pootling around the Peak district and Staffordshire as thats where im going to be situated as of September, but i would certainly like to try and take a bit of the southerners cash home
anyway, here she is!
My Pinnacle Evolution 2.0 frame. Normally found as a whole bike with quite a nice spec but the guy who sold me it bought the bike purely to move the parts over to soemthing else. I believe it to be the 2009 model however at £85 delivered i didn't care much.
As of yet im unsure of the parts im going to use however a general idea is that i want to use the best parts money can buy, within reason. My only problem is that being a student and earning little over £100 a week, as well as running a motorcycle money is tight. Many of the parts will be 2nd hand.
The only thing i've really decided on is once i've weighed the frame is to compare it to other brands, see where i stand and try and make a full build which comes in lighter overall than the majority of other comparable bikes.
I'm on the look out for some 100mm forks, Any suggestions?

and we do have a tour rides section for things like this."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
