Saw this bike on a website:
no, im not thinking of buying it, i've heard some bad things about them but just wondering what kind of abuse those wheels would stand up to and where they're from.
They don't look particularly strong but this is a £500 bike and im gonna be honest i quite like the way they look. So does anyone know the make of these wheels or how strong they are, how much etc?
Cheers

For show. Done at the top end, with the right rims and hubs, may have some advanages for some riders, but at this price point most likely to have very heavy rims to keep the wheel stiff.
Yiou used to be able to buy the wheels on ebay for about 70 quid a pair, weighed 2400g IIRC.0 -
They look like a cheap imitation of the crank bros cobalt rims.
Price is irrelevant and is not always a sign of quality - i wouldnt trust those wheels to last one proper mtb ride. 16 spokes on a £500 complete bike, stay clear unless your just pottering round on tarmac.Ibis Mojo SL-r0 -

That downtube reminds me of the bike that this guy and his son were making in their garage. It was featured in mbuk i think, one of the superbikes or something.Ibis Mojo SL-r0 -
