RST Gilla Plus T7 Problems

Hi,
A good friend of mine unfortunately has these shocks fitted to his bike and unfortunately they are now limited to around 30mm of travel rather than 100mm.
Is there anything I can do to get some of this travel back just for the short time while he saves up for a decent set?

    strip and clean them. then re-lube.

    Does anyone have a manual or a guide for doing this?
