Made 2 different orders on CRC 1 immediately after the other because I forgot to add something.
Both orders were made on the sunday just gone..

1st order = £80
2nd order = £2.90

Order 2 was dispatched on monday, and received yesterday at 9am posted as standard 1st class post.

Order 1 however was only dispatched yesterday and I was expecting it to turn up this morning. But it was posted as signed for delivery (didn't ask for it, I chose 1st class post).

I really don't understand the differences in dispatch and delivery times :(

Just want new toys :(

  • Yeah i find things seem to turn up at different times.

The 2nd order prob turned up earlier as it came with your postman (jiffy bag) ? The other will prob be coming by van and you may have to wait till they're dropping off other orders in the area
  • Yea probs. I'll bet any cash that it doesn't turn up today. either that or i'll be out :(
    meh.

I assume it was sent signed for because of the cost... pleased that they cover themselves, but annoyed because it takes longer :( lol

Dispatch is how long it takes them to pack and send it.

Delivery is how long it takes the company or service used to make the delivery.

Despatch+delivery should = the time from order to receipt.

They most likely have a collection and I would guess that order 1 did not make it in time for monday collection or something like that, maybe out of stock or just too many weekend orders to get ready for the deadline.

No one in there right mind would ship £80 without getting a signature because of charge backs or paypal reversals etc regardless of what the customer wants.

Shipping insurance and signatures on delivery are protection for no one other than the seller as the responsibility to ensure you receive your goods is theirs.

I would say its quite responsible and dilligent of them.

If it was sent then it will turn up. Its better to sign for it because if it did go missing then its far easier to get them to send again this way.
  • you'll never guess what just turned up :D

Your £80 order will have gone signed for due to the value. If the PO lose a letter the insured value is up to £32. Above this you need Signed For or Spec Delivery. This will involve someone having to fill out the POs paperwork from your order details this takes time and you have to get it into the PO system by a certain time of day. So your small order can get into the post for the last delivery but your special will be too late for the POs cut off.
