Now that the clocks have gone forward is anyone up for Friday night rides around the wonderous Swinley Forest, Bracknell?

My semi-regular riding buddy went to work overseas, but we used to enjoy 2-3 hours tearing up the fabulous singletrack that, come Saturday, is chock-full of weekendies.

Probably need to start 6:00ish at the Lookout car park, to get a decent run in this time of year.

If anyone knows the trails better than I do (not hard), that would be even better!!!

  • Been out in Swinley a couple of afternoons this week, it has been excellent, with some new additional Gorrick trailbuilding going on!

I'm always game to ride there and beyond, will be around tuesday nextweek onwards if anyone is keen?

Yeah I noticed some relaid tracks, which will definately improve the quality of cycling. Some of the routes get very boggy etc. Great work!

But where's the northshore - thought I knew Swinley pretty well?

    Thanks,

That would be telling, half the fun of Swinley is finding the new stuff.

Come on mate? Thats the point of these forums - help each other out!

I can only presume it doesn't exist? I'm there pretty much every weeked (only live 4 miles away!)

Anyway be grateful if you can let me know where to find it?

    Cheers

Yeah, please share your secrets with us anjs - we promise not to tell anyone else!!

All I know is the MTB area trails, and how to get there via the long trail to the jump gully. Everything else is a mystery. I've never even seen the infamous corkscrew!

Well as you asked nicely, it starts on the opersite side of the fireroad from the start of the trial that leads to the tank trap. It has a nice new bridge that goes over a tree. It is very tight and technical.

So... we're back after Easter break and I've oiled up my trusty steed!

I'll be hitting Swinley TONIGHT (friday 24th April 2009) from 6:30 - should get a couple of hours in.

If anyone is up for joining me (and showing me the best bits of Swinley ;-) ! ), I'll be in a Black Discovery 'RE06 AVV' parked near the Go Ape gate (hopefully). Will be there from 6.15 - pumping tyres, filling water bottle, greasing nipples, etc...

So come grab me and say hi. (completely, ignoring what your mother told you about meeting people of the internet).

    Hope you can make it!

    Andy
