what's the better bike cos have no clue,
gt aggressor 2.0
gt avalanche 2.0
mongoose tyax elite
these are on my shortlist for a first bike.any other suggestions welcome.

have you read ythe What Bike sticky in the buying section?

All three are decent bikes: the Tyax Super is more like the GTs though.
