Blown a damper on my fork and had to take it to Evans for a service today. They said it would take 3 weeks to be attended to, such is the demand of their suspension service centre.

I'm down in the dumps, and feeling low.

Has this happened to anyone and how did you get over it?

What forks are they? Mojo and TF Tuned have a 4 day turnaround if they do your forks.

TFTuned's earliest booking date for a fork service is 10 days away,

Yes they can service forks in a few days, if they aren't fully booked up, which they are at the minute

get over it? wha? noooo, you don't. I have a buckled wheel so I can't even ride my bike. it's gonna be 3 weeks before I get a new wheel. How do I cope? That's easy, by being moody and stuff.

I've had lots of repairs to do recently. I think it's important to have a backup bike to play on while the other one gets sorted. Also this will make you more keen to try and repair stuff yourself, you can try things out on the old bike too.

Oh yeah, you've gotta have a stable.

I only really get the chance to ride at the weekend, I've never had anything that couldn't be fixed in a week.

This is where the second, third, fourth and fifth bikes come in. Having one bike is like having one gf*

  • I was climbing the walls when my front axle snapped last week, I got through it by shooting nazis on medal of honour and coming on here and talking about mountain bikes - some good pills help as well
  • My Rockhopper has to go in to have a new rebound cartridge fitted. I'm putting it off as I don't want to be without my ride.

Silly as I still have another bike that just needs new gear and brake cables, but I keep forgetting to order any.
Less internal organs, same supertwisted great taste.
