Hi I thinking of buying an inbred frame, but not sure which one to go for I am looking at the 456 or the slot dropout inbred. at present I am going to use it geared, with a 100mm fork. Its use will be mainly winter and use for doing local trials marin llandegla etc.

Any veiws welocme...

Cheers..

With 100mm, go for the standard Inbred, the 456's built much stronger for long forks (and for the sort of riding that needs long forks) which makes it heavy. IIRC it comes out quite steep at 100mm too.

Are you thinking of singlespeeding it? If not, there's a geared inbred as well... Oh, and there's a lot to be said for the Scandal, it's a lovely frame...

I find people from Bacup are quite inbred (not Weir, obviously. The amphibians haven't managed to crawl that far yet and pollute the gene pool).

Sorry, that didn't help. I'll get my coat.

    Thanks

I am looking at geared at the moment but would not rule out single speed at a later date, does anyone know how the slotted is with gears?

Takes both AFAIK, maybe a bit fiddly with gears?

If you're thinking about a geared/singlespeed bike, have you considered a Dialled Bikes Love/Hate? It has standard vertical dropouts with a mech hanger, so can run gears fine. But, it also has an eccentric bottom bracket, which rotates so that you can get chain tension on a singlespeed set up. Steel frame, like the On Ones, UK design, like the On Ones and perfect for a 100mm fork. And yes, I used to have one. :)
