This is just the same channel I posted above, but in Flash:

    Bugger, afx,
You're right, as usual! The countdown on Universal worked fine :(

Note to self, must learn Spanish :)

Ah... it's a bit of a shock going from Belgian camerawork to Spanish camerawork. I feel seasick already

4 riders still away, Astana leading the chase.

I'm in the states watching the Universal Sports stream. There are NO commentators at all. It's very strange to just hear the motor cycle, and occasionally the fans on the side of the road. Very quiet!

Great stage! Proper racing up that last climb... some major suffering going on.

All came back together with a group of 30 odd riders at the end, with Sanchez beating Sanchez in the sprint

    (That's LL beating S.)
  • I'm so annoyed!!!!!

I was so confident Cunego would win that I actually had money on him to win the stage. It was all going so well for 9km and 950 metres of the last 10 k then he just gave up!

It hurts to see your hard earned go out the door like that!

Watched it on tv from Etb.

I remember that climb from the final half stage, the year Denny Menchov won. Bit of a beast.
Cunego looked sweet......bossed the climb and the attacks on the flat........all the way to the sprint....then zipless.
Bertie seemed to have too much upper body movement for comfort.
Is he already thinking about that early May beach holiday?

Damiano showed why he'll be a threat at the Giro. So much of the terrain is right up his alley.

Just how good is Sanchez at the moment? With Valverde looking at a ban can Sanchez step up to be a Tour contender?

LL wasn´t in the main group on the top of the last climb (group of 9), think he needs to improve a little in mountains

When Contador and were amateurs people call them Delgado and Indurain

was it my eyes tricking me or was Contador sliding off the back of the front group cresting the summit of the last climb, losing wheels...he looked on the limit and Cunego the strongest by far

........shame they couldn't be bother to chase the breakaway..........
A bit of a day off, after yesterday. Rather dull.
Result of having no sprinters in a supposed sprinter's stage.

Sprint, Sammy, you clown, SPRINT.

Contador wins, although not by much... Evans 2nd, Sammy Sanchez 3rd, Colom 4th, Cunego some way further back in 5th.

Those crowds were huuuuuge on the climb.
  • POINTS! Points at last! well, point.

Yes, remarkable crowds, more akin to the TDF, than a Spanish race! :)
Bertie's boosters seem to blast him away from everyone, then, run out of fuel.
After that, the gaps remain static. When Sanchez finally put his foot down, the threesome seemed to close the gap.

Horner was special today. If he'd been at Paris-Nice........

People in the north of spain are really into cycling - I don't think even the french can compare :)

Cycling is often popular in some regions rather than nationally. As "hotbeds" go, the Basque country is one region. Brittany in France, Tuscany in Italy and obviously, the top spot goes to Flanders in Belgium.
