I went to try a couple of cross bikes yesterday.

I normally ride a 58cm road bike (im about 6'1) but tried a couple of 56cm cross bikes and they felt really big, like 56cm would be correct and the 58cm would be massive.

Is this normal for cross bikes? as most sizing charts suggest I should be in the 58cm bracket. Im looking in particular at the focus bikes on wiggle, again the size chart says buy a 58cm but Ive got a feeling for a cross bike this might be too large?!

Thanks, Mike

Generally, cross bikes are 1-2cm smaller - the bikes have a higher BB for clearance and can feel 'tall' in comparison to a road bike.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
