gt xct 2009 !!!!!!!!!

hi all looking at one in halfords tommorrow £599 ,20% off this weekend only is it any good or should i go for the x1 for £440 please help me do i get alot more for my with the xct !!

    I guess you mean the XCR?

    Main difference is the forks - with the XC1, the 33Rs (120mm) seem decent enough but the only adjustment you can make to them is the rebound damping - no lockout etc. Where as the XCR has 44TST2 forks which have 20mm more travel, lockout and damping.

    The only other difference I can see is the rear mech and chainset is slightly better on the XCR - Personaly, I don't think that the extra £160 is good value.

    It might be worth phoning Halfords in the morning to see if they have any of last years Aggressor Elites (Rockshox Reba forks) available at these knock down prices. I think the original list price for the Elite was £999 and I saw one recently in a store for around £800. If the addtional 20% applies to then you could get a much better specced bike for the same price as this years XCR.
