Just looked at soles of carbon soled shoes and got rubbing wear signs toward rear of Look cleats, Is this normal or are they set up wrong?

Anyone have or have not a similar problem???
It is from the sideways movement of the shoe when clip in and it is wearing into the carbon sole.
Do i need to tighten them up or is it normal please?0 -
Which look cleats? Which carbon soled shoes? Which look pedal?
I have Look keo easy's, also look keo carbons pedals and Specialized BG carbon soled shoes, and the grey cleats, no wear as you describe tho.
Is the cleat correctly positioned on the ball of the foot on the sole of the shoe, have you a lot of float in the pedal by the type of cleat you are using?0 -
just had a look at my shoes, but I have no wear behind the cleat on the sole.
I clipped my shoes into the pedals to see if there was any contact, but none seen.
I use LOOK Keos on Shimano TR50s, and the cleat is mounted fairly in the centre, and the sole seems to angle up and away from the pedal when clipped in.
Try clipping your shoes in on your bike while stationary, and see where the wear is from.
It might be the position you have the cleat in (you probably shouldn't change the cleat position if it's comfortable for you), a worn cleat, or purely the design of the shoe which lets the sole be in close enough proximity to the pedal clip to allow it to wear.
Either way, I honestly don't think it should cause a problem.FCN 10 -

LOOK grey cleats come with a standard 4.5 degree of 'float' or play. The red cleats with 9degrees, the black with 0 degrees.
You may reduce or increase the stiffness of release, by adjusting your pedals, but if you require less float, you might want to change cleats. This will depend on how much movement you do or don't require. Having 'float' allows the knee to move naturally, unless you have perfect pedalling motion, I'd hesitate to use the black cleats.
Although, you could try them and see if they are ok for your knees.FCN 10
