budget road bike for £300 max?

got a friend wanting a road bike, but he has a £300 max, wants drop bars and STI levers.

Any suggesions for a good quality bike for this price?

    Got to go second hand really. You can buy new, but unless you get a fabulous deal on a higher-specced, higher-priced machine you'll be making too many compromises in quality.
